The officers of WMSAR have worked hard to enhance the search capabilities available to the Search Incident Commander. By obtaining the commitment of other volunteer resources to help during a ground search, WMSAR can bring increased capabilities to a search scene. Some of these resources are:
General Information Operation under Incident Management System (IMS) previously known as Incident Command System (ICS) as used by the Police and Fire departments.
. Assistance to the Incident Commander by providing a liason between himself and volunteers that arrive at the staging site
Pager activated search team members
Civil Air Patrol Ground Search Team. Pager alerting capabilities of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) network and
Radio communications with teams (Primarily Ham bands), aircraft and marine units.
Remote on site lap top computer generated and printed topographical maps and photo reproduction.
K-9 search team support.
Helicopter and helicopter landing zone (LZ) support.
Fixed wing aircraft support.
Air boat support.
Marine support.
All terrain amphibian vehicle support.
